I think that the single most important world issue of the 21st century is the mid-east conflict. This conflict affects the whole world, many countries are in favor of israel, and others of palestine. This conflict has caused many deaths on both sides. Palestinian suicide-bombers(referred to by some Palestinians as freedom-fighters) go into israeli places and blow themselves up, not only killing themselves, but more times than less killing israeli civilians. Also, israeli tanks roll into Palestinian refugee camps and cities, and kill innocent Palestinians, many times killing children, and they also destroy buildings in bloody attacks(referred to by the Israeli government as "retaliation"). I believe that both sides are guilty of many things. The Palestinians are guilty of killing Israeli's by blowing themselves up, but also the Israeli's are guilty of killing innocent Palestinians, and knocking over buildings, and over-aggressing when they get their "retaliation". This conflict has split the world in many ways. The U.S. is the country trying to be the mediator, but Palestinians and many other countries argue how could the U.S. be a mediator when they supply Israel with money every year, and they help build the Israeli army. Basically all of Europe with the exception of Prime Minister Tony Blair, are in support pf Palestine. This conflict has been raging for years, and i believe the only way for this conflict to be solved is for Israel to give back the land that they took in the War of 1967, and make the lands of Palestine and Israel equal in size, because until both countries are equally sized, there will continue to be violence from Palestinians, and there will continue to be "retaliation" from the Israeli's. As long as this continues, the world will not have peace, and many of the world's nations will be at different opinions with eachtother on this subject. And as long as nations have different opinions there will not be peace, and evntually this could lead to a large war, maybe even a World War.
I believe just the chance that there could be a world war should be enough to make everybody realize how important this issue is. This conflict could easily become like the war between Iraq and Iran. They fought for over 10 years, and over a million people died. Anywhere near this amount of death could be devestating for both nations. Thi sconflict could have more similarities with the Iraq-Iran war.In that war countries were supplying Iraq and Iran with weapons and supplies, and this created a mini-conflict between the other nations of the world. There was no fighting but it sort of made a division, as this issue already has. This time though, if there are divisions, there cuold be violence, and that would be horrendous for the entire world. Who knows what kind of weapons would be used, and what effect it would have on the economies of the nations involved. There could be a major economical crisis in many nations if this happens, and then the nations that did not join in the war would economically dominate the world. Then there would be more problems because these countries would lend the other countries money to help get the economy going again, then there would be major debts besides the ones of now.
All in all this conflict could lead to major consequences for the whole world. There could m=be a massive amount of lives lost, and there could be very critical blows to the economies of the world.

I agree with this ariticle comlpetely. Hatred is the main reason for everything bad that has happened in the world. If you go all the way back to World War 2, the reason that began was because of Hitler's hatred for the jews, and basically anyone who wasn't blonde haired and blue-eyed. You can also look back to September 11th. The reason for the attacks is because of the hatred towards Americans that is felt by those terrorists. They believed that the U.S. was responsible for something bad that happened to them or family. They were so filled with hatred that they would do anything to hurt America, and they did. They killed thousand of people because they felt it was necessary.
Hatred has made a huge impact on the world since the beginning of time. Pretty much any war, or battle, or murder has been become of hatred for other people. Hatred comes in many forms. First there is Racism. This is the largest form of hatred. Hilter killed Jews because he was racist against them. Whites made Blacks do work for them because they felt they were superior to them, also racism. Even now the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict continues to go because it is fueled by raw hatred. The Palestinians hate the Israeli's and the Israeli's hate the Palestinians. If there was no hatred between the Palestinians and Israel's, there would be an equal amount of land distributed, and everybody would live in peace. But because of this hatred the land is unevenly distributed, and there is no peace. Both countries believe that the land belongs to them, and because they believe the other is wrong, there is violence constantly going. Suicide-bombers continue to blow themselves up, and Israeli tanks continue to roll into Palestinian refugee camps, and towns, and they continue to fight with eachother. This fighting will continue to go on until these two sides begin to like eachother or until they begin to distribute the land evenly.
Hatred has fueled all of the worlds conflicts for, well, for ever. There is always someone who hates another person, or a country who hates another country. There has always been hatred among people, dating back to when there were pharoahs in Egypt. The phaoroahs hated their slaves, and their slaves hated the pharoahs. This went on until there finally was a stop of slavery and a stop to pharoahs. There will always be hatred until people begin to realize that no one is worse than them, and until they realize that they are not worse than anyone. People don't only hate people that they believe are lower than them, but they also hate people who have more things than them. Many people hate celebrities becuase of all the fame that they have. They hate them because of their looks, or their money, or becuase they get all the girls. Hate is everywhere in the world at all times, and is constantly affecting us. There is always something bad that is happening to someone somewhere because of the hatred other people feel toward them. And until this hatred is gone, the world will continue to have violence, and murder and killing will continue to be done.
